I only took up painting 5 years ago and have mainly worked on landscapes (with the odd foray into portraits).

I often find inspiration from friends social media posts of holiday photos as they are never short of beautiful scenery and sunsets! or pictures I see in art galleries or art books. Its just a case to give things a try and see what works.

I have had a few commissions from friends for which I ask them to donate to a cancer charity I support and this gives me great satisfaction.

As a complete amateur I’d encourage anyone to pick up their brush or pencils or whatever medium they fancy and just start as the sense of reward of seeing something you created is wonderful.
